Your social calendar is filling up fast for the holidays. You may have to go to a school program, church ornament exchange, party in a friends home or an office party for your husband’s job. What will you wear to all these social events? Start planning now so you are not left just “throwing something on”.

Ladies, are your ready? Black Friday is coming! The day after Thanksgiving when you (and the rest of the country) can score big sales on your entire Christmas List. Will you be joining the masses and lining up outside the doors before day break? If so, you’ll need to wear the right clothes to make your day as comfortable as possible.

If you are rolling out of bed a 5AM to start your day, don’t be tempted to throw on your comfy sweats and tennis shoes. You are going to be out in public with many people so make an effort to look good!

Here are some tips:

1. Wear comfortable flats. Ballet flats are a great option that are very stylish.

2. Wear pants that fit you properly. Low-rise that leaves you exposed whenever you reach down for something will leave you self-conscious and distracted. Pants that are too tight will chafe and ride up in all the wrong places.

3. Wear layers. You’ll be starting out early so it will be chilly but the stores will be hot with all the people. Start with a nice looking top, add a light sweater and finally, a light jacket. You don’t want anything too bulky as you’ll end up carrying it…you’ll need your hands free for all your packages!

4. The perfect bag will be just the right size. If it’s too big, you’ll spend the day unintentionally wacking other people with it. If it’s too small, you won’t have anywhere to put all the receipts and coupons you’ll accumulate.

5. If weather looks like it might be a problem, bring a compact umbrella just in case. You don’t want to get caught dodging to your car with handfuls of bags getting soaked!

6. Bring some touch up makeup along. As the day wears on, you’ll want to apply some powder and gloss to keep yourself looking fresh.

7. Avoid any bulky or long accessories. A long strand of beads looks great over your cashmere sweater but if you are leaning, rushing and bending (Yes, Black Friday shopping is like a sport!) they are sure to get caught on something. Better to wear a shorter necklace or scarf.
